Early Childhood Teacher

Lisa

Hi, I’m Lisa and I’m the Early Childhood Teacher at Paynesville Kindergarten. I have worked in early learning for over 30 years and hold an Advanced Diploma in Early Childhood Teaching 0–8-year-olds.

My values as a teacher are kindness, commitment, and professionalism. I am passionate about early learning because it is vital that children experience a rich, positive, engaging, and calming learning and development environment in their formative years. Creating a love for learning, in which each child feels a sense of place and belonging, is my heart felt goal. Every day is different, every child and group is different, and that makes my job so refreshing, rewarding and a rich learning experience for me too. Families are always the child’s first and foremost teacher and I endeavour to support them by building strong and trusting relationships.

Leading Educator

Kristy

Hi, I’m Kristy and I’m the Leading Educator at Gormandale Uniting Kindergarten. I’ve worked in a variety of early years settings for over 20 years.

I have a Bachelor of Early Childhood Studies and a Post Graduate Diploma of Education (inclusive and Special Education).

I value children’s differences and love supporting their desire to learn through play-based imaginative play spaces and intentional teaching moments. I feel that I have a natural ability to connect with children and foster their interests and development in all learning areas.

We hope that when entrusting your child’s learning to the Educators at Gormandale Uniting Kindergarten, you will feel that they are supported in their connectedness with peers and educators and that the learning environment will actively encourage them to explore their own interests and strengths.

Health and wellbeing

Mental health

Our educators are trained in various programs to support the mental health of your child and are skilled in working with children who have experienced challenges and trauma. We also offer mental health support for families if you find yourself in need of assistance.

Nutrition

Your child will learn about good nutrition to form healthy eating habits. We do this by growing fruit, vegetables and herbs in our centre garden. We also teach food safety practices. We enjoy cooking sessions to teach the children how to prepare healthy food.

Safe environment

As a child safe organisation, our educators undergo regular working with children’s and police checks. We are focussed on delivering learning and development in a safe and supportive environment, so you can trust that your child is in good hands.

Centre Co-ordinator and Teacher

Kathy

Hi, I’m Kathy and I’ve been the Centre Co-ordinator and a teacher at Glen Iris Rd Uniting Kindergarten since 2009 and have worked in the sector for 30 years. I have a Diploma of Teaching in Early Childhood and a Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Studies.

The old saying that “it takes a village to raise a child” is so true. I live, work and have raised a family in this community and feel a true connection to the children and families that I work with and the broader community.

The early years are the foundation to life and what we do as Early Childhood Educators in collaboration with families can make a huge difference to a child. I feel privileged to be able to contribute to the lives of children in such a positive way.

At Glen Iris Rd Kinder we are a dedicated, passionate, and caring team of Early Childhood educators with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Your child’s safety and education in a nurturing and fun environment is paramount to us. Drop in anytime to say hi, we’d love to meet you.
