Located on Kent Road, our kindergarten has educated and cared for children in the local Pascoe Vale community since 1961.
Our educators will encourage your child to follow their curiosity, explore and discover the world around them through hands-on, nature-based activities.
We plan our activities with your child’s interests and abilities in mind, so they engage with the program and develop a love of learning.
Our educators offer an inclusive environment and can support children who live with physical and intellectual disabilities.
Our play areas encourage children to be physically and socially active. Our kindergarten features:

We are part of the Victorian Department of Education and Training (DET) Early Childhood Language Program. Our kindergarten offers a Mandarin Language Program. Mandarin is incorporated into everyday learning experiences to give children meaningful opportunities to use the language themselves. Children learn this language through play, art, music, singing, dancing, and stories. A qualified Mandarin teacher delivers the language program in partnership with the other staff at the kinder. Learning in languages other than English helps children to improve their overall literacy and understanding of how language in general works. There are many benefits to children learning in another language at a young age, including:
Our staff are trained to use some key word signing. We can also have communication translated and interpreted for families who speak languages other than English.
We recognise Reconciliation through our an inclusive and culturally safe kindergarten environment. We create respectful relationships with our children, families and the wider community through continuing to support Reconciliation.
We embed First Nations perspectives in meaningful ways by acknowledging the past, understanding our culture, valuing our culture and the children’s rights to learning about culture and by continuing our journey of walking forwards.
Hi, I’m Renee and I’ve been the Nominated Supervisor and Kindergarten Teacher at Kent Road Uniting Kindergarten since 2020. I have worked with Uniting for the past nine years at several of our services across Melbourne’s north west as a teacher and Nominated Supervisor.
I have a Post Graduate Degree in Education (Early Years) and a Bachelor of Business with a double major in Human Resource Management and Communications.
As a mother of two children, I understand the importance of my role. I feel I have the very real opportunity to make a difference to the lives of children by building strong, connected and respectful relationships with each child and their family.
At Kent Road, our team is passionate about creating a safe, supportive, nurturing, stimulating, imaginative and happy learning environment at all times to ensure that every child experiences success.
Our educators are trained in various programs to support the mental health of your child and are skilled in working with children who have experienced challenges and trauma. We also offer mental health support for families if you find yourself in need of assistance.
We empower children to make healthy choices at our kindergarten and at home. Your child will learn about nutrition and the importance of a balanced lifestyle, develop skills to take care of their bodies and form good eating habits.
As a child safe organisation, our educators undergo regular working with children’s and police checks. We are focussed on delivering learning and development in a safe and supportive environment, so you can trust that your child is in good hands.
