Hi, I’m Claire and I’m the Team Leader at Uniting Family Day Care – Gippsland. I’ve been part of the FDC team for 5 years and have over twenty years of experience in early learning. I hold a Diploma of Community Services – Children’s Services and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Psychology and Sociology.

I’m passionate about early learning because I get to watch children discover, grow and learn while building relationships and connections with others. It’s a real privilege to observe a child’s confidence grow.

Hi, I’m Donna and I’m the Team Leader at Uniting Family Day Care Wimmera. I’ve worked in the Early Years sector since 2004, in various roles in childcare centres, kindergarten and Family Day Care. I have a Diploma in Community Services (Children’s Services).

I’m constantly amazed at just how intelligent children are. I enjoy stepping into a child’s world to discover how they absorb information. It’s a privilege to be alongside children as their unique personalities emerge and their identities form in a learning environment.

Our Family Day Care Educators put the needs of children and families first and develop authentic, long–lasting relationships. They offer nurturing, flexible, and inclusive education and care in a small group size and comfortable home environment.

Hi, I’m Fiona, the Acting Centre Director and 4-year-old Kindergarten Teacher at Yea Uniting Early Learning. I’ve worked in early learning for 25 years and have been the 4-year-old teacher at Yea for 10 years. During this time, I have seen our service grow and develop into the thriving hub it is today.

I have a Bachelor of Early Childhood Studies and am currently studying my Graduate Diploma of Psychological Science.

I love knowing that I am making a positive difference in the lives of the children and families that I support.

Hi, I’m Hannah, and I am the Nominated Supervisor at Port Melbourne Uniting Kindergarten.

I’ve been fortunate to work in the early childhood education sector for over 10 years. I have a bachelor’s degree in education, specialising in Early Childhood and a follow–on Diploma in Psychology.

My journey in early childhood education has been fuelled by a passion for nurturing young minds, fostering a love for learning, and creating a supportive and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and empowered.

I’ve had the privilege to work with diverse groups of children. These experiences have taught me the importance of adapting to the needs of each child, celebrating their individuality, and providing them with a rich, engaging learning experience. With my team, I am committed to implementing a curriculum that is not only educational but also fun and engaging, encouraging curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.

I believe as an educator we are also learning from the children, and it is a reciprocal relationship of teaching and learning.

Hi, I’m Simon and I’m the Nominated Supervisor for Before & After School Care services at Campbell Street, Collinsvale, Kempton, Mount Stuart and South Arm. I have a Bachelor of Teaching from the University of Tasmania.

I’ve been the Program Leader for 18 years. During that time, I have worked predominantly in school aged education, working at several OSHC services and our pre-kinder program at Campbell Street Early Learning.

I’m passionate about assisting children to develop in their life-long learning, and love to see the achievements in their early years. We provide a safe, enjoyable, and fun environment for the children to develop through play-based development and learning tailored from the children’s own interests. Educators provide both environments and programs that support children’s positive mental health and self–care. We also offer mental health support for families if you find yourself in need of assistance.

Our kindergarten’s indoor and outdoor experiences are planned with your child’s needs in mind.

Family and community connections

We believe family participation in our kindergarten is vital in achieving the best outcomes for children. Our educators:

Incursions to enrich our programs, such as African drumming, The Responsible Pet Program, drama experiences, visiting dentist
Interactions and learning opportunities with different age groups
Literacy and numeracy programs through play, stories, songs, puzzles, games and other resources
Library book borrowing and home learning kits
Activities to teach the importance of caring for the environment
Small focus groups
Auslan (Australian Sign Language) is incorporated into our learning program.

School readiness funding

Our kindergarten receives funding from the Department of Education to employ an additional educator to offer higher than standard child to educator ratios in every group.

We also receive 30 allied health sessions to support families and educators in areas of speech, psychology and occupational therapy.

This funding allows us to offer a book gifting program to help children develop a lifelong love of reading.

Languages

Hello, my name is Kate and I’m the Service Co-Ordinator and Teacher at Ringwood Uniting Kindergarten. I’ve worked at this kinder for over ten years and within early learning for 30 years. I hold a Diploma of Teaching Early Childhood and am very passionate about keeping up to date with current research and best practice in this space.

Working in Early Childhood is fun, rewarding and interesting. It’s a strong team of passionate and dedicated educators at Ringwood Kinder who strive to provide a high-quality program. All families are welcomed into our community. We are so proud of the diversity of our service and how we can learn from and support one another.

Hi, my name is Mel, and I am the Centre Director at Scots Early Learning. I hold a Certificate III and Diploma of Children’s Services and have worked in the industry for over a decade.

Early in my career, I discovered a natural ability to connect with children who struggled in social interactions. Building strong relationships with families and watching children bloom into engaged learners inspires me. I am extremely passionate that children are incredible teachers when life is explored alongside them.

By placing your child at Scots, we will welcome you as a part of our community. Your child will be safe and supported and their needs actively met throughout their growing developmental stages. We’ll communicate with you daily that your child’s voice is being heard, acted upon and reflected on as part of our program. Most importantly we wish for each child to feel nurtured and that their educators are part of their community.

Our food is prepared onsite from local ingredients so your child can enjoy a healthy, balanced diet full of variety and flavour.
