Located in the heart of Belmont near High Street, we offer an inclusive and creative kinder program led by educators who will nurture your child’s strengths, interests and social connections.

We offer nature-based, hands-on early learning activities that encourage children to become active members of our local community.

Team Leader
Kate
Hi, I’m Kate and I’ve been the Team Leader at Alexander Thomson Uniting Kindergarten since 2015. I’ve worked in early learning for around 30 years and hold a Bachelor of Teaching (Primary), Diploma of Education in Visual Arts and a Graduate Certificate in Early Learning Education.
I thoroughly enjoy supporting, encouraging, and shaping young children and families to be the best they can be and to become connected community members. There is no better feeling than seeing a child achieve a learning outcome or seeing a family become well connected in our community. I feel very fortunate to be able share these moments with our families on their child’s educational journey.
At Alexander Thomson Kinder our team believes that all children have the right to a high quality, respectful play based early childhood education that develops deep connections within their community.
Health and wellbeing

Mental health
Our educators are trained in various mental health programs such as Be You and Respectful Relationships. We care for your child’s mental health through mindfulness, meditation, emotional regulation and connection with others. Our kinder includes mindfulness, meditation, yoga and caring for self and others. We also offer mental health support for families if you find yourself in need of assistance.

Nutrition
We encourage healthy eating and support families to provide nutritious lunch box foods. We work closely with our local supermarket, which supplies us with fruit and vegetables to offer children nutritious snacks throughout the day.

Safe environment
As a child safe organisation, our educators undergo regular working with children’s and police checks. We are focussed on delivering learning and development in a safe and supportive environment, so you can trust that your child is in good hands.
