Welwyn Kindergarten has prepared children for school since 1968. We strive to create opportunities which inspire children to learn, develop and grow.
Located in Deer Park, a short walk from Station Waters Reserve and Kororoit Creek, our kindergarten offers a large and inviting outdoor area for exploration and learning adventures.
We also offer the DET Learning Languages Program Mandarin Language.
A natural and leafy outdoor area inspires children to get in touch with nature. Tending to our veggie patches, fruit trees and worm farm, improves children’s key developmental skills including coordination, balance, and posture. Our indoor and outdoor spaces are fully equipped to help them thrive in their early years of education.
Our kindergarten features:
Children at Welwyn Kindergarten love to engage in fun and collaborative activities each day. We encourage children to develop sustainable practices, such as recycling, instilling important lessons for life. We also enjoy taking excursions to local venues like the library and Woolworths.
The children often receive visits from a variety of different organisations, teaching them about all sorts of interesting topics. Past examples include:
We understand the importance of teaching healthy eating habits to children from a young age. Encouraging healthy bodies and minds, we empower children to make nutritious food choices.
At our kindergarten:
We encourage families and the local community to take an active role in our students’ early learning development. Parents often volunteer their time to provide support and resources for our programs, and we invite community members to join our families in activities from fundraising to social events.
We engage with many different people, groups and services within our community regularly including:
Welwyn Kindergarten offers a diverse learning environment. Many children who attend our kindergarten speak languages other than English at home. Our educators aim to provide for families of all backgrounds.
English is our primary language for written and spoken communication with parents and families, however, we can have all forms of communication translated for families who speak languages other than English.
Our experienced and qualified team are fully equipped with the skills to provide safe and nurturing environments to all children. Our educators are experienced in working with children who live with a range of physical and intellectual disability or have experienced challenges and trauma.
