Before and after school care in Ferntree Gully.

Located at Kent Park Primary School, our before and after-school program provides learning and leisure activities for local children, taking the pressure off busy families who need additional school-based care.  We also provide vacation care during the school holidays, which families who attend other schools can also enrol in.

We provide experiences to help your child get in touch with the outdoors and nurture an understanding and love for the environment.

We provide a culturally safe and inclusive environment and provide translation and other support services where needed.

Service Leader

Alecia

Hi, I’m Alecia and I’m the Service leader at Kent Park Uniting Outside School Hours Care.

I’ve been an educator at Kent Park since 2024 and am currently completing a Bachelor in Primary Education. In my professional experience, I’ve worked with students across primary and high school settings.

I love helping children to learn, build their confidence, and find what they are passionate about.

Our team’s approach is grounded in play-based learning, creativity, and inclusion. We create an environment where children feel valued, confident, and free to explore their world in their own way. We take a child-first approach, recognising that each child learns differently and benefits from opportunities to express themselves through play, curiosity, and imagination.

To me, our community means connection, collaboration, and a shared commitment to helping children thrive. When educators, families, and children work together, it creates a sense of belonging and a positive foundation for lifelong learning.

At Kent Park OSHC, we pride ourselves on providing a warm, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every child feels a strong sense of belonging.

Health and wellbeing

Mental health

We work closely with Uniting staff trained in children’s trauma. We also work with Kindergarten Inclusion Support and Safe Child Support services. We also offer mental health support for families if you find yourself in need of assistance. Educators provide both environments and programs that support children’s positive mental health and selfcare.

Nutrition

We provide nutritious food, full of flavour and made from fresh ingredients. We accommodate all dietary requirements. To encourage healthy bodies and minds, we:

Safe environment

As a child safe organisation, our educators undergo regular working with children’s and police checks. We are focused on delivering learning and development in a safe and supportive environment, so you can trust that your child is in good hands.
