Early Learning Centre
Early learning in East Sale.
Our unique kindergarten is located on the historic RAAF base in East Sale.
Our educators are passionate about creating an inclusive and stimulating environment to nurture your child’s strengths, interests and social connections.
We provide nature-based, hands-on learning activities and encourage children to become active members of our local community.
Our educators offer an inclusive environment and can support children who live with physical and intellectual disabilities.

Our centre
Our large outdoor spaces are ideal for play-based activities that encourage the physical and social development of your child. Our kindergarten features:
- Planned indoor spaces
- Sand and mud pits
- Water tank and hand pump to teach the responsible use of water
- Worm form
- Fruit orchard
- Vegetable and bush tucker gardens
- Pergola
- Shade sail
- Play area including climbing equipment, swings and slides
- Bicycle track
- Cubby house
- Bird aviary
- Large wooden ship and aeroplane

Learning experiences
Your child will take part in fun learning activities focussed on caring for themselves, the environment and getting involved in the local community. Our learning activities include:

- Recycling of materials and water
- Composting, worm farming and sustainable living
- Excursions to local parks to explore the natural environment
- Excursions to local libraries, museums, art galleries and primary schools
- Healthy cooking
- Visits to the RAAF base, including the flight school, search and rescue department and fire station
- Visits to local emergency services.
Family and community connections
We encourage families to get involved in our kindergarten. You are invited to participate in:
- Celebrating significant cultural festivals and days
- Talking to the children about your job, hobbies or other interesting topics

Language
Our educators speak English and Italian. We can translate information for families who speak languages other than English. An Auslan teacher works with the children for six hours each fortnight.

Shirley
Hi, I’m Shirley and I’m the Early Childhood Teacher and Centre Director of East Sale Uniting Kindergarten.
I have been teaching in Early Learning for over 20 years, the past 12+ years at this service. I’m passionate about creating an environment where children are valued as capable, competent, co-contributors and are acknowledged as active participants in their own learning.
Our service has successfully upheld its ‘Exceeding’ rating for the third consecutive time. I believe strongly that this is attributed to the passion and dedication of our teaching team, who strive for excellence every day.
We look forward to welcoming you to our East Sale Uniting Kindergarten community.
Mental health
Our educators are trained in various programs to support the mental health of your child and are skilled in working with children who have experienced challenges and trauma. We also offer mental health support for families if you find yourself in need of assistance.
Nutrition
We will empower your child to make healthy choices by offering lessons on nutrition, food safety and cooking. At our kinder, we:
- Grow our own produce
- Offer progressive snacks and lunchtime to empower children to ask for what they want and when
- Offer cooking classes for children and families
- Promote food safety
- Cater for a diverse range of dietary requirements.
Safe environment
As a child safe organisation, our educators undergo regular working with children’s and police checks. We are focussed on delivering learning and development in a safe and supportive environment, so you can trust that your child is in good hands.
