Learning experiences

The team at Glassford Street Kindergarten will help your child to build the foundations for positive future learning and wellbeing.

Caring for the environment

We teach sustainability practices including recycling, reducing waste and reusing materials for craft. As part of our commitment to caring for the environment, we have a rainwater tank, worm farm and compost area. Children learn about sustainability by growing their own fruit and vegetables in our kindergarten garden.

Kindergarten Teacher

Hi, I’m Raquel and I’m a Kindergarten Teacher and Nominated Supervisor at Glassford Street Uniting Kindergarten. I hold a Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood) and have worked in the sector for 16 years.

I consider myself an advocate for children and their right to play, learn and develop. In our
kindergarten community I ensure children feel that they belong to a group, share who they are, and are valued and respected.

At Glassford Kinder, we welcome you as part of our learning community where we plan activities and experiences based on the strengths and interests of every child.

Mental health

Our educator are trained in various programs to support the mental health of your child and are skilled in working with children who have experienced challenges and trauma. We also offer mental health support for families if you find yourself in need of assistance.

We support your child to make healthy food choices with the key message: Eat Well, Drink Well, Clean Well. We cook with fresh produce from our kinder garden, share healthy recipes and offer children a fresh fruit platter at the beginning of each session.

Safe environment

As a child safe organisation, our educators undergo regular working with children’s and police checks. We are focussed on delivering learning and development in a safe and supportive environment, so you can trust that your child is in good hands.
