Located in Cansick Street in Rosedale, our kindergarten provides hands-on activities to help your child become an independent and confident learner.
We provide a play-based program tailored to your child’s interests and abilities in an environment that will build their sense of belonging, resilience, kindness and teamwork.
Our educators are experienced in supporting children who live with a range of physical and intellectual disabilities and complex medical needs.
- Henry, Age 3, 2022.
Your child will be exposed to new experiences, people and learn skills that will help them become broad thinkers and active community members. At our early learning service, your child will take part in:
Our sustainability motto is “only take what you need.” Our activities focus on how to minimise waste by reusing and recycling.
Through incursions provided by Wellington Shire, we learn about recycling, composting and looking after our worm farm.
We have our own plot in the community garden where we grow seasonal fruits and vegetables and make them available to the community.
We also run regular Nature Play Kinder sessions.
We love getting out and about in our community and welcome guests to our early learning service. Our excursions and incursions include:
We strive to provide an environment where all families feel welcomed and accepted. We support and respect all children, as well as our staff and volunteers. We are committed to the cultural safety of Aboriginal children, the cultural safety of children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, and to providing a safe environment for children with additional needs.
We work in consultation with children and families to deliver a service that is respectful and supportive.
First Nations culture and language are a big part of our program. Acknowledgment to country, songs and learning words in English and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander language are part of our activities. Our yarning circle is used to share stories and gathering to eat. We have a bush tucker garden and we use the foods we grow in this garden in our cooking experiences.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day is recognised and celebrated with an excursion to the Knob Reserve in Stratford. The Knob reserve is a significant site of the Gunaikurnai people with First Nations Elders sharing their culture, language and knowledge of the area on the day.
To support the transition to school in partnership with Rosedale Primary School in terms two, three and four. School transition activities will help you and your child feel safe, secure and gain familiarity with our local school.
Early Childhood Teacher
Hi, I’m Pauline and I’m the Early Childhood Teacher at Rosedale Uniting Early Learning. I’m a proud Monero Ngarigo woman with a large Aboriginal family in Gippsland. I’ve worked in the early learning sector for over 20 years.
I have a Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood), Graduate Certificate in Educational Inclusion and Diversity and a Master of Education.
Fostering children’s learning and development and being part of their family’s journey makes early childhood education the most rewarding job. Every group is different, but every child’s journey from beginning to end demonstrates the power passionate teachers and educators can have on a child’s development.
At Rosedale Kinder, we’re a team who recognises that every child has their individual strengths and is capable of amazing things. We provide a learning environment that fosters every child’s development. We love what we do.
Our educators are trained in the Be You and Respectful Relationships Program. Our activities include mindfulness, meditation, yoga and caring for self and others. We support children in recognising and dealing with their emotions. Calming areas equipped with tools to self-regulate are always available at our early learning service.
Your child will learn about nutrition, looking after their body and the importance of an active lifestyle. We do this by:
As a child safe organisation, our educators undergo regular working with children’s and police checks. We are focussed on delivering learning and development in a safe and supportive environment, so you can trust that your child is in good hands.
