Nominated Supervisor

Karen

Hi, I’m Karen and I’m the Nominated Supervisor and teacher of the 4-year-old Echidna Group at H.E. Kane Uniting Kindergarten. I have been teaching at this kinder since 2001. I grew up in Hadfield and have many happy memories within this community.

I have a Bachelor of Early Childhood and have over 20 years’ experience in the Early Childhood sector. Teaching has always been a passion for me.  I feel very lucky to be working with children, I find it extremely rewarding to support children to grow and develop to their best potential.

Our dedicated team sees the uniqueness and potential in every child. We plan our play-based programs on children’s interests and take pride in our large outdoor space, where children can imagine, explore and develop skills and most importantly have fun!

Health and wellbeing

Mental Health

Uniting educators support the positive mental health and wellbeing of children and their families. Our program includes mindfulness, meditation and caring for self and others.

Nutrition

Healthy eating and good nutrition are key for early childhood development. Our educators work hard to create positive eating environments, which reflect cultural and family values, dietary requirements and give your child the energy they need to be their best selves. We support families to provide nutritious lunch box foods and work with our local supermarket to offer children nutritious snacks throughout the day.

Safe Environment

As a child safe organisation, our educators undergo regular working with children’s and police checks. We are focussed on delivering learning and development in a safe and supportive environment, so you can trust that your child is in good hands.
