Early Learning Centre

Early learning in Alfredton.

Our kindergarten is located on a quiet street west of the Ballarat CBD in Alfredton.

We offer an inclusive and creative kinder program, led by educators who are focussed on nurturing your child’s strengths, interests and social connections.

Your child will enjoy fun learning adventures through creative indoor activities and outdoor experiences such as tending to our fruit, vegetable and herbs gardens where they see, touch, feel and learn as they play.

Our goal is to nurture happy, healthy children and inspire a lifelong love of learning.

Team Leader

Michelle

Hi, I’m Michelle Dawson, the Team Leader at Alfredton Uniting Kindergarten. I have worked in early learning for 8 years and hold a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) as well as various certificates in Special Needs Education and Steiner Child development that support my role.

My teaching philosophy is driven by the belief that all children should have access to an education that is engaging and purposeful to their needs. My role is to guide and support children on their learning journey.

The Alfredton team provides learning opportunities based on each child’s interests and needs, supporting them to achieve educational goals and learning outcomes regardless of circumstance or background within a calm and nurturing environment.

Health and wellbeing

Mental health

Our educators are trained in various programs to support the mental health of your child and are skilled in working with children who have experienced challenges and trauma. We also offer mental health support for families if you find yourself in need of assistance.

Nutrition

Your child will learn about good nutrition to form healthy eating habits. We do this by growing fruit, vegetables and herbs in our centre garden. We also teach food safety. We respect and follow culturally appropriate food guidelines as we educate the children about healthy eating and nutrition.

Safe environment

As a child safe organisation, our educators undergo regular working with children’s and police checks. We are focussed on delivering learning and development in a safe and supportive environment, so you can trust that your child is in good hands.
