Service Leader

Kirra

Hi, I’m Kirra, the Service Leader at Strathmerton Uniting Before & After School Care. I have been an educator for eight years. I’m also a mother of two beautiful children, so I understand how important development
and play is. I have been able to observe children growing and learning both personally and professionally and helping young people to develop has been the greatest experience that I have had as an educator.

I am very passionate about giving every child a voice. Early in my career, I came across a child who had no form of communication, which inspired me to learn Auslan. Being able to support and nurture this child’s needs has been my greatest achievement as an educator.

I have worked in bustling childcare centres where I have upskilled staff and even children around basic Auslan skills.

At Strathmerton we recognise your child’s individuality and support their growth, creativity and development whilst also exploring their interests. We offer a nurturing and safe environment where children are encouraged to explore, learn and
build strong foundations for their future education. Our experienced educators are committed to personalising each child’s learning experiences to ensure each child thrives at their own pace.

We look forward to welcoming you to our kinder.

Health and wellbeing

Mental health

We work closely with Uniting staff trained in children’s trauma. We also work with Kindergarten Inclusion Support and Safe Child Support services. We also offer mental health support for families if you find yourself in need of assistance. Educators provide both environments and programs that support children’s positive mental health and selfcare.

Nutrition

We provide nutritious food, full of flavour and made from fresh ingredients. We accommodate all dietary requirements. To encourage healthy bodies and minds, we:

Safe environment

As a child safe organisation, our educators undergo regular working with children’s and police checks. We are focused on delivering learning and development in a safe and supportive environment, so you can trust that your child is in good hands.
