Lead Educator
Karly
Hi, I’m Karly and I’m the Lead Educator at Rokewood Before and After School Care. I am currently studying my Diploma of School Aged Education and Care which I have almost completed. I love continuing my knowledge and building my skills within the childcare industry. I value creating safe, welcoming and fun environments where children feel comfortable, supported and encouraged to explore their interests and creativity. I am passionate about spending time with children, learning about them and helping them build their confidence, friendships and independence through engaging experiences and play based learning opportunities. I really enjoy planning exciting activities, hands on experiences and opportunities that support children’s wellbeing, development and sense of belonging. I value kindness, respect, inclusion and building strong relationships with children, families and the wider community. Being part of a small local community is something I really enjoy, and I love creating connections with families and children within the service. Outside of work I enjoy spending time outdoors and absolutely love reading, I’m a Kindle kind of reader. I also enjoy trying new recipes and exploring different ways of cooking, which means I’m always finding fun ideas and recipes to share with the community. At Rokewood I strive to create a safe, welcoming and supportive environment where children feel valued, included and encouraged to be themselves. I fully focus on building strong relationships with children and families while providing fun, engaging experiences that support children’s wellbeing, confidence and development. Being a small country service allows me to create meaningful connections within the community and provide care that feels personal, supportive and flexible for families.
Health and wellbeing
Mental health
We work closely with Uniting staff trained in children’s trauma. We also work with Kindergarten Inclusion Support and Safe Child Support services. We also offer mental health support for families if you find yourself in need of assistance. Educators provide both environments and programs that support children’s positive mental health and self–care.
Nutrition
We provide nutritious food, full of flavour and made from fresh ingredients. We accommodate all dietary requirements. To encourage healthy bodies and minds, we:
- Grow our own fruit, vegetables and herbs
- Practice food safety
- Work with families from a range of cultural backgrounds to ensure we are offering appropriate food choices
- Provide a healthy afternoon snack that is prepared with the children.
Safe environment
As a child safe organisation, our educators undergo regular working with children’s and police checks. We are focused on delivering learning and development in a safe and supportive environment, so you can trust that your child is in good hands.
