Early Learning Centre
Early learning in Hopetoun.
Located on Mandeville Street in Hopetoun, our childcare service supports local families who have work or other regular commitments during the week.
You can rely on us for long day care to support your busy schedule, while we provide fun and creative early learning experiences for your child.
Our small group sizes mean your child will receive personalised care while they enjoy educational and hands-on activities alongside their peers.
Our educators are passionate about fostering your child’s individual strengths, interests and social connections.
We are experienced in supporting children who live with a range of physical and intellectual disabilities.
Our centre
Your child will explore their surroundings and play with their peers in our new outdoor playground. From enjoying picnics on the lawn to growing vegetables in our garden, your child will have endless opportunities to explore, discover and learn. Our early learning centre features:
- Planned indoor spaces
- Large outdoor spaces
- Sand and mud pits
- Recycling area
- Cubby house
- Worm farm
- Pergola.
- Equipment for activities such as climbing, skipping, throwing and catching
- Trees and natural shade
- Gardening beds
- Shade sail
- Chickens

Learning experiences
Your child will have the opportunity to participate in various activities such as arts and crafts and music lessons.
Some of our other activities include:
- Growing and sharing vegetables with our families and the community
- Playing sports
- Feeding and collecting eggs from our chickens
- Participating in community events.
Family and community connections
We welcome families to participate in our activities when they can. Whenever possible, we run activities that build connections between the children and our community.
We invite you to:
- Celebrate significant cultural events
- Talk to the children about your job, hobbies or other interesting topics
- Volunteer your time to support our activities.
To foster strong community connections, we regularly engage with:
- Local primary schools
- Local police, paramedics, nurses, firefighters
- The Men's Shed.
Language
We can have all forms of communication translated for families who speak languages other than English. Some of our educators speak Tagalog (Filipino) and English.
Health and wellbeing
Mental health
Our educators are trained in various programs to support the mental health of your child and are skilled in working with children who have experienced challenges and trauma. We also offer mental health support for families if you find yourself in need of assistance.
Nutrition
Your child will enjoy a range of nutritious meals and snacks made from ingredients harvested from our own garden. Your child will learn about the importance of healthy eating, nutrition and an active lifestyle.
Safe environment
As a child safe organisation, our educators undergo regular working with children’s and police checks. We are focused on delivering learning and development in a safe and supportive environment, so you can trust that your child is in good hands.
