Centre Director

Mel

Hi, my name is Mel, and I am the Centre Director at Scots Early Learning. I hold a Certificate III and Diploma of Children’s Services and have worked in the industry for over a decade.

Early in my career, I discovered a natural ability to connect with children who struggled in social interactions. Building strong relationships with families and watching children bloom into engaged learners inspires me. I am extremely passionate that children are incredible teachers when life is explored alongside them.

By placing your child at Scots, we will welcome you as a part of our community. Your child will be safe and supported and their needs actively met throughout their growing developmental stages. We’ll communicate with you daily that your child’s voice is being heard, acted upon and reflected on as part of our program. Most importantly we wish for each child to feel nurtured and that their educators are part of their community.

Service Lead

Cheryl

Hi, I’m Cheryl and I’m the Service Lead at Orbost Uniting Early Learning. I’ve been an educator at the service for 5 years and worked in early learning for over 12 years. I have a Diploma in Early Learning.

I get great joy out of discovering how children learn and helping them to extend on their interests and knowledge. At Orbost Uniting Early Learning, our team provides a safe and secure family and community environment that provides a childled nurturing program.

Health and wellbeing

Mental health

Our educators are trained in various programs to support the mental health of your child and are skilled in working with children who have experienced challenges and trauma. We also offer mental health support for families if you find yourself in need of assistance.

Nutrition

Your child will learn about nutrition and how to take care of their body. We teach food safety,
healthy eating and the importance of exercise through fun and practical activities. We cater for all dietary requirements. Our vegetable garden supports our heathy eating activities and we use our own produce in our cooking program. We have fresh eggs from our chickens and these are used for cooking or taken home by the children.

Safe environment

As a child safe organisation, our educators undergo regular working with children’s and police checks. We are focused on delivering learning and development in a safe and supportive environment, so you can trust that your child is in good hands.
