At a Uniting Kindergarten, your child will learn, discover, create and imagine through play-based learning, guided by professional educators.
Play helps your child to learn, create social groups, test out ideas, challenge each other's thinking and build new understandings. Educators take on many roles in play with your child and use a range of strategies to strike the balance between child-led and educator-supported learning.
Our programs actively engage parents, celebrate diversity and help your child develop a sense of community.
Our services develop unique, age appropriate, play-based programs tailored to the families, children and communities we work with. Nurturing children in positive and stimulating environments encourages them to explore their world, discover themselves and build healthy relationships with other children and adults.
We help to lay the foundations for future learning through environments that are rich in numbers, words and creative activity.
We know that parents and carers are the most important people in a child's development. Our services support this role, encouraging parents and carers to be active in their child's learning, whether by contributing to program development or interacting with our early learning communities.
With a strong focus on indoor and outdoor programs, we celebrate the natural environment and use natural materials in our activities, providing fun, stimulating and sensory experiences.
Two important documents guide the way we nurture children in our services. They are:
Belonging, Being and Becoming - The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia
The Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework
Some of our services use a Steiner, Montessori or Reggio Emilia approach that also meets the requirements of the Australian and Victorian early years frameworks.
