Pascoe Vale South Uniting Church Kindergarten has been an integral part of its local community since 1964, playing an important role in educating and nurturing young children in the lead up to school.

Positioned in the heart of Pascoe Vale, close to Brearley Reserve, our kindergarten provides high-quality care within a beautiful setting for children to explore.

To showcase our facility we have created a 3-D Virtual Tour with a dollshouse view and a highlight reel.

Environment

Children climb, cycle, create, and learn about the environment and sustainability in our natural outdoor play space. Within our haven of indigenous shrubs and trees we encourage children to immerse themselves in nature, tend to our vegetable and garden bed, dig in the sand or rock pits, or find a quiet place to read in the shade. Our environment offers a variety of space and support for every child to thrive.

Learning Experiences

Special guests regularly visit our kindergarten to teach children about the world around us. Our 4 year olds explore and engage with our local community during our annual structured excursion.

Some of our exciting adventures include visits to Melbourne Zoo and Animal Land. Children have also participated in:

  • Aboriginal and drama workshops
  • Music and animal workshop
  • Recycling and sustainability programs
  • Taking care of the worm farm
Health and wellbeing

Learning about health, wellbeing, and active living is part of our curriculum. At a time when children are forming new habits, we guide them towards making healthy choices and living their most vibrant, sustainable life.

Our program includes:

  • Growing our own food in the garden
  • Discovering foods from a range of cultures
  • Empowering children to ask for what they want and when
  • Educating children and their families about healthy eating and nutrition
Family and Community

Join your child on their early learning journey! We welcome your family to participate in everything from fundraising and social events to having your say through our Parent Partnership Group.

Parents regularly join us for:

  • Cultural festivals and celebrations
  • Talking to the children about their job, hobbies or other interesting topics
  • Volunteering their time to provide support and resources for our programs
  • Attending social events like the annual disco or welcome barbecue

Families are always welcome to talk to our educators about their child’s development, progress and happiness at any time.

We maintain our strong connection to the community by:

  • Supporting charities
  • Working with children’s services
  • Visiting the local primary school, library, and museum
  • Meeting local service people (e.g. police, fire and emergency services, etc.)
  • Working with Indigenous community members or groups
Languages

Our staff speak a range of languages and we also have access to interpreters. All forms of communication can be translated for families who speak languages other than English.
