Gormandale Uniting Kindergarten

Open day 18 May. Call us to arrange a tour.

On Main Street, Gormandale, Gormandale Uniting Kindergarten prepares children for school through early learning educational programs. Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00am to 3:00pm, your child will thrive within sensory and safe learning experiences and enjoy our lush bushland environment.

Nurturing and educating children of our community aged 3 years and above, children at our kindergarten learn new skills for school, build relationships, and thrive in our naturally beautiful surrounds.

To showcase our facility we have created a 3-D Virtual Tour with a dollhouse view and a highlight reel.

Our rural backdrop forms part of your child’s education program with rich sensory experiences at their fingertips. We make the most of our countryside by encouraging children to explore and play outdoors while they learn about sustainability, how to care for the environment, and the rewards of growing their own produce.

Our kindergarten features:

  • Planned and intentional indoor spaces
  • Large outdoor space
  • Trees and natural shade
  • Vegetable and herb gardening beds
  • Worm farm
  • Birds and bugs
Learning Experiences

Children enjoy a range of new experiences at our kindergarten and during exciting excursions with their kinder friends. We design our activities to make learning as fun and engaging as possible, while also encouraging social connections between the children, their community and the environment.

At Gormandale Kindergarten, we promote sustainable living and encourage children to develop everyday sustainable practices. This includes maintaining a worm farm and encouraging composting, as well as promoting recycling of materials and water.

We’re lucky to host a wide variety of visitors, guest speakers and incursions:

  • Melbourne Museum Discovery Program
  • Early childhood educators and entertainers, Jack & Molly
  • Library Visits
  • Gallery Visits
  • Country Fire Authority (CFA)

Our excursions are also fun and exciting! Some of the places we like to visit include:

  • Wellington Art Gallery
  • Fauna Park Sale
  • Family Farms
  • Gormandale Recreation Reserve
  • Gormandale Post Office
  • Sale Wetlands
Health and wellbeing

Health education is hands-on and engaging at our kindergarten. By growing our own produce children learn about where fresh food comes from and why it’s nutritious.

We actively take part in the ‘Smiles For Miles’ program and promote practices that align with the Early Childhood Achievement Program
priority areas.
