Bairnsdale Early Learning Centre has been an integral part of our local community for more than 40 years.
We are an inclusive kindergarten offering an integrated 3 and 4 year old early childhood development program. We offer a diverse range of activities and free play times children self-select, encouraging them to develop their independence and teamwork skills. Our huge outdoor play area has lots of trees for natural shade and is the perfect space for activity and adventure.
We have a large playground that invites children to touch, observe and explore the natural world. Our wholesome space nurtures their curiosity and prompts important conversations about caring for the environment. We recently added a new pergola over the sandpit and a shade sail over the climbing area to ensure our children are always sun-protected.
Our kindergarten features:
We have lots of fun experiences for children to engage and express themselves! We use visual guides around the centre, including a visual timetable, to develop a sense of weekly routine. Children at our centre foster a relationship of respect and stewardship for the environment through key sustainability activities and initiatives.
Our kindergarten:
We arrange experts to run specialised workshops that teach the children about the world around them. Past examples include the Melbourne Museum outreach program (including Dinosaur Fossils and Backyard Bugs), Living Safely With Dogs and reptile handlers.
We also participate in Smiles 4 Miles, encouraging and promoting good oral health habits and healthy eating among children.
Encouraging healthy eating habits to children from a young age is important for positive self-development. That’s why we empower children to make healthy and nutritious choices through education and active involvement in food preparation. We also work closely with families to help them make the right food choices for their children.
At our centre:
We love working closely with families and the community. We encourage families and the local community to take an active role in our students’ early learning development through workshops and presentations.
